Who I work with

Life coaching offers informed and compassionate witnessing of your experience, attuned mirroring of your inner wisdom, and heart-centered accountability partnerships to help you live in alignment with your values.

I work with folks from a wide range of backgrounds. However, some of my specialties include:

  • LGBTQIA+ and nonbinary clients, especially those coming out later in life

  • Artists, musicians and writers wanting to expand their creative practice

  • Caregivers and empaths working to maintain compassionate boundaries or recover from burnout

  • People strengthening communication in relationships, including those practicing ethical non-monogamy, relationship anarchy and kink

  • Spiritual explorers and adventurers seeking harm reduction, benefit maximization and integration of insights from peak experiences, including responsible use of psychedelics for healing and growth

Because I offer remote sessions, I can work with folks in any location. I only work with adults and individuals (no youth or couples).

My Background

Anne Sinkey, MSW, PhD

My name is Anne, and I use she/her and they/them pronouns. I am a white, queer femme in my mid-40s. I bring experiences of privilege and poverty, trauma and healing, heartbreak and survival to our work as your queer life coach.

I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I do offer both experiential and research-backed knowledge to inform our connection. This includes a PhD in Culture, History and Theory with a certificate in Women's Studies from Emory University, as well as an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Portland State University. I've worked as a psychotherapist, professor, museum educator and diversity trainer. Volunteer and internship experiences include work with sex workers, people experiencing houselessness, on a women's crisis line and in a university counseling center. I'm engaged in continued education about effective integration of psychedelic experiences for personal growth. As a former therapist-turned-life coach, I offer skills and experience beyond many other practitioners with life coaching certifications.

While I have been coaching clients for over seven years, my background and credentials will help inform, but not define, our work together: you are always the expert of your life experience, and I hope you will teach me how best to show up in a way that is useful and supportive for you. Whether you're looking for an LGBTQ-affirming life coach, an experienced creativity coach, or a spiritual or psychedelic integration coach, I'm here to support you.

I live in Portland, Oregon where I keep a messy garden, sing off-key songs to my cat and admire lichens on slow hikes in the forest.
