Anne Sinkey, MSW, PhD

My name is Anne, and I use she/her and they/them pronouns. I am a white, queer femme in my mid-40s.

It would be an honor to be your queer life coach.

About Anne

As an educator and former therapist-turned-life coach, I offer skills and experience beyond many other practitioners with life coaching certifications. I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I do offer both experiential and research-backed knowledge to inform our connection. This includes a PhD in Culture, History and Theory with a certificate in Women's Studies from Emory University, as well as an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Portland State University.

I've worked as a psychotherapist, professor, museum educator and diversity trainer. Volunteer and internship experiences include work with sex workers, people experiencing houselessness, on a women's crisis line and in a university counseling center. In addition to coaching, I currently work as a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) educator and consultant.

While I have been coaching clients for over seven years, my background and credentials will help inform, but not define, our work together: you are always the expert of your life experience, and I hope you will teach me how best to show up in a way that is useful and supportive for you. Whether you're looking for an LGBTQ-affirming life coach, an experienced creativity coach, or an informed queer relationship coach, I'm here to support you.

I live in Portland, Oregon where I keep a messy garden, sing off-key songs to my cats and admire lichens on slow hikes in the forest.
